At last, a true Garden of Eden has been located - and it's on Angela Street in Key West; the Gardens Hotel (named “The Prettiest Hotel in Key West” by The New York Time’s List). This expansive former private estate has been converted to a fine lodging establishment, featuring 17 luxurious guest suites amidst one of Florida’s oldest and most respected tropical gardens.
The main house boasts the d'vine Wine Gallery, with over 35 wines to offer, and a large array of tasting options. This state-of-the-art wine tasting bar allows the enthusiast or connoisseur the ability to serve themselves a sample from one ounce, up to a full glass of wine from around the globe. Guests insert "smart cards" into temperature controlled wine tasting machines, place their glass under the spigot, choose the size pour, and enjoy! This enables them to experiment with different varieties or try a rare vintage before committing to buy. The d’vine Wine Gallery’s unique wine preservation system perfectly preserves an open bottle, allowing you to sample fine wines that would only be offered by the bottle anywhere else.
Enjoying a glass of wine in the secluded gardens, surrounded by palm trees, flowering bushes and hanging orchids, is nothing short of heavenly. Cabaret Nights are every Thursday and Live Jazz in the Gardens on Sunday when the pool bar is open to non-guests. Their “no-kids” policy is just one of many reasons why this is a highly civilized place to get a quiet, relaxing drink.
