No Worries Charters
Welcome aboard No Worries Charters! Captain Paula Carbonell invites you, your family and your friends to share an enjoyable half or full day with her boating the waters surrounding Key West. The large aquatic area off the Florida Straits provides miles and miles of protected, mostly calm water for a multitude of activities such as fishing, snorkeling or simply touring the Key West Harbor for an unobstructed view of what some consider the best sunset on the Atlantic Coast.
You deserve the luxury of doing what you want when you book a day on the water. No Worries is strictly a private charter boat. That means you book your date and time, you pick your guests and you pick your activities. No strangers, no set schedule. No Worries can accommodate your group of up to six individuals (and perhaps a four legged friend or two!) for nearly any combination of activities that you wish. Paula provides the boat, the tackle, the kayaks and all the gear you could need, you bring only the willingness to have fun!
Let Paula know your fancy for the time you spend on the water, and she will work with you to construct an unforgettable day.
Captain Paula
Paula Carbonell, licensed as a boat captain for 30+ years, was born and raised in Key West. This third generation “Conch” invites you to join her in exploring and experiencing the fun of her childhood playground. Paula is an avid spear-fisher and free diver, knows how to rig a line, and can spin a tale or two about the history of Key West (some of them true!). Paula also previously served as a long-time instructor-trainer for the YMCA Center for Underwater Activities. As a former educator, she still loves to teach children and adults alike about the unique eco-system surrounding the Keys – above and below the water – via kayaking, snorkeling, fishing or touring.
Key West Snorkeling
Don a snorkel and a face mask for an underwater viewing adventure! See abundant fish life and coral heads, then slow down and look closer to discover sea biscuits, urchins, Florida spiny lobster and conchs. The calm, clear waters surrounding Key West make this a perfect place to learn to snorkel for the beginner, and an absolute joy for the experienced snorkeler.
Key West Light Tackle & Key West Reef Fishing
Especially suited for beginners, but also enjoyable for more seasoned fisherfolk (or fisher-weeuns), light tackle fishing is always a crowd pleaser. Throw your line into shallow or rocky bottom and see if the Yellowtail, Snapper or occasional Bonnethead shark takes the bait!
Key West Kayaking
Kayaking with No Worries is a two-step process. First, you enter your easy-to-paddle, sit-on-top kayak from the dive platform attached the rear of No Worries. Second, you let the fun start! Kayaking the calm, clear waters surrounding the outer islands off Key West is a great way to enter shallow areas, where you will see underwater critters from a great vantage point, or you can simply sit back and glide over the quiet grass beds. You may choose to paddle around a mangrove island, viewing some spectacular birds –such as Osprey, Blue and White Herons, Egrets and Black-Tipped Ibis – wading in and flying over the water. Some of our outer islands have sandy beaches, and you might choose to paddle to shore, rest and beachcomb. It is up to you!
Key West Harbor Sunset Tour
Private Charter Boat + Harbor + Unobstructed View + Incredible Sunset = Instant Gratification and a Lifetime Memory!
Key West Deep Sea Trolling
Otherwise known as “Doin’ the Big Blue”, offshore fishing requires more skill than might, a little strategy and a bit of luck. This is where the "fishtale" is born. Tag your own Dorado, Sailfish, Tuna or King Mackerel, and you have some stories to take back home!
Key West Lobstering
When in season, this is probably our Number One memory-making activity. For time immemorial, folks have sighted and taken lobster by hand. Paula can show you how to find, “tickle” and “bag” your lobster, measure it, and even get it ready for grilling or boiling. This is a rare opportunity to let your stomach be as big as your eyes, and earn yourself some bragging rights to take back home. As Paula says, “It only takes one ledge to make you a hero.”
Key West Combination Trips
Take it for granted: any and every trip can become the perfect combination of fun and relaxation.
Vessel
The No Worries is a 28 foot Luhrs with twin diesel inboard engines, providing solid security and maneuverability to get you nearly anywhere off the Florida Straits you may desire. She is equipped with a marine head and fresh water shower, in addition to a hard top for time in the shade (or out of the rare sprinkle) and a long forward bow for a stretch in the sun. You won’t find yourself getting wet onboard, but if you desire a dip for wet activities, the full length dive platform in the aft makes getting in and out of the water an absolute breeze.
What a boat! Spacious with a smooth ride, and all the amenities for a comfortable day on the water!
Inspiration
Paula’s Grandfather traveled to Key West from Havana, Cuba bringing family and a love of tropical waters with him. Growing up in Key West, Paula was introduced at a very young age to fishing, swimming, diving and boating. The water off the lower Florida Keys made for a memorable childhood playground, and fostered a life-long love of the water and its inhabitants, which Paula now wishes to share with natives, locals and visitors alike. Let Paula help you enjoy the water around Key West through the eyes of three generations and a lifetime of fun.
